St Joseph's is a Rugby Union club whose origins are from the old school boys of St Joseph's High School, Duffryn, Newport. The senior club has been in existence since 1979.
In the year 1998 a junior section was created from a handful of players associated with the seniors. Nowadays St Joseph's attracts players from many of the other Gwent Schools.
In the season 2005/6 a Youth team was established which means the club now caters for all age groups from Under 8 through to Seniors (19+).
St Joseph's Casnewydd RFC is a voluntary organisation and is registered with the Inland Revenue as a Community Amateur Sports Club.
